2017 Vacation - Dartmoor

While staying in Torquay, we had to get out and see some of the beautiful Devon countryside, what better place than Dartmoor National Park?

But first, I wanted Judy to be able to say she had set foot in Cornwall, so a quick trip down the motorway to Saltash and of course Brunel's fabulous bridge.

Then it was up onto the moor, which is gorgeous at any time of year; I think we had the best of both worlds, fantastic sunshine all morning but then moody wet, windswept Dartmoor in the afternoon, which also has it's charm.

We stopped for lunch at the lovely old Rugglestone Inn and also checked out Sherlock Holmes and his famous hound at the Princetown visitors centre. Finally late in the day the Holy Trinity Church at Buckfastleigh was a "must see" talk about atmospheric!
