2017 Vacation - South Devon

Once in Devon we were lucky enough to spend our remaining vacation at the Grand Hotel in the Agatha Christie suite, where she spent her honeymoon. Considering she has outsold everyone except Shakespeare and The Bible (over 2 billion copies sold) that surely makes her one remarkable author. The hotel even provided an "original" typewriter, in case we had literary pretentions ourselves.

As you would probably expect the view was stunning, although we didn't know it, when we booked it, that weekend was the Torbay Airshow, as you can see we had a ringside seat. Certainly the best ever view of the Red Arrows I have had and they just keep getting better and better.

Sadly the weather wasn't particularly helpful, but we weren't going to let it stop us, so we took the steam train from Paignton down to Dartmouth on the Dart Valley Railway.

I guess the artistic muse must have got to Judy, because the following day, she stayed and painted, while Dan went off to Exeter to look at the trains and the city. Coming back there was also time to stop off in the lovely little beach town of Dawlish and enjoy a yummy 99! A perfect end to our seaside holiday.
