The Deutsches Museum - German Museum of Masterpieces of Science and Technology is reputably the worlds largest and quite probably the world’s best.

Everything is meticulously annotated in both German and English. Exhibits are beautifully laid out and there isn’t a single technology that isn't covered.

Dan was particularly interested in the Computers and Communications section. This had so much stuff like the original Commodore PET, IBM PC, Cray computer, punched card reader, open tape and old style disk packs it was like a trip back into his own career.

Also featured was an Enigma encryption machine, something Dan had always wanted to see up close as in many ways the outcome of the Second World War revolved around the invention of this device and its subsequent decryption by the Allies.

There was a fantastic exhibit on the history of printing, Foucault’s pendulum and some seriously large spark generators.
