Summer to Halloween 2025
This summer we continued to get out and about with a lovely visit to the Hammond Museum in the next town over from where we live, also we finally had the chance to see inside of Walter Brewster house, the historic home of our town founder. The Hammond Museum is nice and the stroll gardens are wonderful if the weather is good. Of course we also had the chance to hang out around the pool and enjoy our garden. Dan celebrated another birthday back in August and of course our 21st Wedding Anniversary in September. Sadly over the years, all our local great restaurants have either shut down or deteriorated as owners have changed and the ever present inflation forces them to do more with less. We did have a good dinner at a place in Ridgefield, but it was good not great and doesn't really rate a mention here. We enjoyed the Columbus Day celebrations put on by the local Italian/American club which was fun and we found some lovely licorice. Dan wrapped up his city trips with a visit actually inside the United Nations, first time since moving to the USA. Speaking of which, some of you may know that he actually resided at the Waldorf Astoria for a couple of months while doing some computer stuff for UBS. The hotel has just reopened and looks absolutely beautiful. He also made it up to that perennial favorite the American Museum of Natural History. So famous that "Night at the Museum", an excellent and very funny movie starring Ben Stiller was filmed there, well the outside anyway. The interiors were all on a set in Canada. Speaking of Canada Dan also made a long weekend of a trip to Montreal, there's a separate gallery for that right here. Dan's been working on the electronics with the trains, so not much to see there, although there is a Youtube Video here. At least he is getting quite handy with a soldering iron. Dan did do a bit of scenic modeling with a new laser cutter he got himself as a birthday gift, which resulted in a couple of these lovely cottages. Judy meanwhile got her creative juices flowing by doing some yummy baking. Finally despite the lack or trick or treaters, we celebrated Halloween anyway and dressed the house both inside and out, as befits Judy's favorite holiday!
