Halloween to Easter

In November we were delighted to welcome cousin Danielle and her amazing mum Karen as part of their visit to New York. Aside from being great company, they also brought me over a couple of fresh Rememberance Day poppies as my old one was getting a bit stale.

December brought some early snow on the 14th and then the usual Christmas Celebrations.

January brought snow and cold, so I've been working on some software amply assisted by ChatGPT. The projects have included:

  • A computerized building generator for my model railway buildings

  • A Portfolio Manager for an AI powered investment portfolio I've been testing

  • Grocery Buddy which sucks in all our shopping receipts and local grocery flyers and helps us find good bargains the following week.

I also fixed up Judy's art website. Judy has started working on new paintings , as she puts it, "This year's work centers on an exploration of sacred geometry as a living, emotional language rather than a fixed system. Through repetition, overlap, scale, and subtle shifts in color, I investigate how geometric forms can hold feeling-balance, tension, emergence, and quiet connection."

February brought another huge storm on February 23rd allowing Judy to celebrate another birthday in tundra conditions. In sad news, at the end of the month, our lovely neighbour Rocco passed away at the age of 94, following a short illness. A few months after his 71st wedding anniversary, with Lena, in November. What a run!

In March Dan completed Catslide Cottage and started working on Station Garage, using the software mentioned above and the laser cutter he bought last year. Judy exhibited again at the Ridgefield Guild of Artists. We visited the Putnam 250 exhibit at Mahopac library, Dan went into White Plains for the day to the fancy Westchester Mall and spring FINALLY arrived.
