April 2011
European Trip
Dan was back in Europe again during April combining a little business and a little pleasure. In London he saw this amazing VW Beetle, what a gorgeous skin. Amazingly enough a search in Google for the license plate WD03 KRK revealed all!
With Mark he also checked out the Langham Hotel and more specifically their top restaurant "Roux at the Landau" it was very nice, but not as exceptional as one might have expected.
A walk in the city provided some pictures of the beautiful architecture, both ancient and modern. He went looking for the building that housed UBS where he started his city career in 1990. It is now sadly a building site! Fortunately the rebuilt Spitalfields market does have it's redeeming features including Poppies a very traditional East End fish and chippy, straight out of the pages of Foyles War.
With the office move completed - very successfully - Dan headed to Ireland, Lismore, tranquil and as peaceful as usual. It was nice to see mum again and the rest of the family. She still has her model looks!
While there we paid a visit to Ardmore and St Declan's Oratory, the scenery is nothing short of stunning and the original Ogham Stones containg the incredibly historic written Celtic language that goes back to before the time of Christ are just amazing.
